Wilma R. Traeger, 66, of Peoria, formerly of Havana, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at her residence.
She was born on January 2, 1952, in Charles City, IA, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary Griswold Reed. She married Ernest R. Traeger on June 30, 1973, in Green, IA.
Surviving are her husband and four children: Heidi (Jeff) Smith of Ankeny, IA, Holly (Matt) Parmerlee of Ft. Wayne, IN, Mark (Cara) Traeger of San Antonio, TX, and Matt Traeger of Peoria, IL. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, along with two sisters Beth (Dave) Ott of Marble Rock, IA, and Donna (Wayne) Hart of Portsville, NY.
Wilma was a daycare provider and worked as a preschool teacher for Headstart in several Central Illinois communities. She enjoyed many things in life, especially planting flowers, watching the birds, and spending time with her family. Wilma had a deep love for her Lord and faithfully prayed daily for her children and grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018, at Bethany Baptist Church, 7422 N. Heinz Lane, Edwards, IL. Burial of her remains will be at a later date at Westside Cemetery in Marble Rock, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the ALS Association-Greater Chicago Chapter, 220 W.
