William S. “Bill” Harms, 71, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 3:12 am on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
He was born on April 23, 1951, in Peoria, IL, to William K. and Dolores C. (Fandel) Harms. He married Carmen I. Elliott on April 23, 1990 in Eureka, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Carmen of Metamora; children, Darla (Armando) Oropeza of Helena, Montana, Heather Hanson Bell of Germantown Hills, IL, Kristophier Harms of West Peoria, IL, and Adi (wife Sarah Brown) Elliott of Skokie, IL; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Ryan Harms, son-in-law Tom Bell, and half-sister Lori Harms Slater.
Bill worked as a logistics planning analyst for Caterpillar Tractor Company until his retirement. He was a life-long gear head. He enjoyed playing Pokemon GO and working on cars to the very end.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, July 1, 2022 at St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery in rural Metamora with Reverend Mark Nelson officiating.
