William A. "Bill" Belshaw age 54 of Washington, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on Monday May 20, 2013. He was born Feb. 27, 1959 in Peoria to William B. and Marjorie J. (Obert) Belshaw. He married Donna Sue Hofbauer on April 16, 1988 in Washington and she survives. Surviving is his mother of Metamora, brother-in-law Ken Halvachs of Belleville, IL., one niece Ashlee Halvachs of Belleville, IL., one nephew Ken Halvachs Jr. of Chicago and his In-laws Donald and Beverly Hofbauer of Paxton, IL. he was preceded in death by his father and his sister Sheree Halvachs. Bill graduated from Metamora High School in 1977 proudly playing on the 1975 State Football Championship Team. Graduated from Illinois Central College and attended Illinois State University. He was employed by Advocate BroMenn Medical Center for the last 29 years working in Information Systems. Bill loved sports, fishing, hunting and especially playing hockey. He was a Peoria youth hockey coach for 10 years and his proudest accomplishment was leading the Peoria Jr. Riverman Bantam AA Team to the State Championship in 1999. Bill was also an avid music lover and a well respected drummer. He had played in numerous bands throughout his lifetime. Bill always said " I?m not here for a long time, I?m here for a goodtime!" he loved life and lived everyday to the fullest always with a laugh and a positive attitude. He had a special light from within that touched the life of everyone he met. He will be truly missed by many. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am Friday May 24, 2013 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Don Roszkowski officiating. Recitation of the rosary will be at 3:30pm with visitation to follow from 4pm until 7pm Thursday at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Cremation Rites will be accorded after Mass with burial of ashes at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Metamora at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Advocate BroMenn Charities.
