Theresa "Terry" J. (White) Hurst

BARTONVILLE - Theresa "Terry" J. Hurst, 80, of Bartonville, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 22, 2021, at Heritage Health in Chillicothe, IL.

She was born on November 10, 1940, in Peoria, IL, to Edward and Ruth White. She married William "Bill" Hurst of Peoria, IL, on May 28, 1960. Terry and Bill celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2020. He survives.

She is also survived by her sister, Sheila "Sherry" Henry of Tucson, AZ; children, Michael (Dori) Hurst of Lake Elsinore, CA, Janet (Jim) Taylor of Mapleton, IL, and Mark Hurst of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Lindsey Ingram of Bartonville, IL, Miranda (Jeff) Hahn of Glasford, IL, Jessica (Chris) Williams of Farmington, IL, and Izzy Hurst of Las Vegas, NV; and five great-grandchildren whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as grandchildren, Michael Hurst Jr. and Darnel Hurst of Lake Elsinore, CA.

Terry worked at Illinois Neurological Associates (INI) for 23 years. She and Bill enjoyed 20 years of retirement, both locally and in Mission, TX. She was an avid golfer, having won the 9-Hole Women's City Championship in 1989. She passed her love of flower gardening to her daughter and granddaughters. She also enjoyed a good game of cards. A devout Catholic, she was a Eucharistic minister at St. Anthony's for many years. Her greatest love, however, was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Terry loved to host large dinners for her family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, January 27, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bartonville. A visitation will be held one hour prior at 9 a.m., also at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice or St. Anthony's Church.  Funeral arrangements are being handed by Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington.
