Stanley “Stan” L. Vervynck Sr. 62 of Kewanee, IL was called home on January 21, 2020, at 3:10 a.m. at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria IL surrounded by his family.
Stanley was born March 1, 1957, in Kewanee to Walter and Frances Vervynck. He is survived by his life partner Elisabeth Vervynck of Kewanee and his 6 children Mark (Trisha) Vervynck of Kewanee, Richard (Charli) Vela of Kewanee, Stanley (Amber) Vervynck Jr. of Chillicothe, Natasha Vervynck of Florida, Andrew Vervynck of Peoria, and Melissa Goetz of Mt. Zion. Also surviving are 4 siblings Walter (Mary) Vervynck Jr. of Kewanee, Hazel (Ray) Williams of Sheffield, John Larson of Joliet, and Effie Neil of Pennsylvania and 16 beautiful grandchildren. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings Janet, Helen, Michael, Demetria, and Harry.
Stanley’s passion was dirt track racing and building cars. He raced on and off the track in Princeton for over 45 years and received numerous trophies. He loved frequenting estate sales, swap meets and auctions where he collected a lifetime of treasures. He enjoyed being a Grandpa and spending time with his grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded and his family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria Il. Mason-White Funeral in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
