Rose Mary T. “Rosie” Knoblauch, 94, of Metamora, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at 10:31 pm at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 9, 1928 in Eureka, IL, to Daniel and Marie (Michael) Krumholz. She married Bertin N. Knoblauch on January 28, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bertin, an infant daughter, Victoria Lynn Knoblauch, one son-in-law, Michael Gorszczyk Sr., one step-grandson, Gary Gorszczyk, her brothers, Bernard Krumholz and Daniel “Junior” Krumholz, and sisters, Dolores Knoblauch and Rita Weber.
She is survived by three daughters, Diane (Oscar) Osorio of Germantown Hills, Sandra Knoblauch of Channahon, IL, and Pamela (Duke) Matlock of Pacific, MO; six granddaughters; five step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Carl) Adams; brothers, Anthony Krumholz and William (Joan) Krumholz; brothers-in-law, Donald Knoblauch and Norbert Weber; and sister-in-law, Joanne Krumholz.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora, Altar and Rosary Society, Homemakers Club, Red Hat Society, and other organizations. She was an avid follower of the Metamora Redbirds and was excited for another season of football. Her biggest loves were faith, family, traditions, and celebrations.
Services will be held on her birthday, Saturday, September 9, 2023 in Metamora. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 10:15 am with visitation to follow from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father David Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Metamora.
