Robert "Bob" Butterly Obituary

Robert W. “Bob” Butterly, 83, of Washington, IL, passed away at 7:45 am on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on June 6, 1938, in Streator, IL, to William and Agnes Adams Butterly. He married Jean Eller on June 23, 1964.

Surviving are his wife, Jean of Washington; three children, Nancy (Brian) Wraight, Dan (Alaine) Butterly, and Pat (Veronica) Butterly; and four grandchildren, Alexis, Jessica, Sean, and Maddie. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1961 – 1964 and in Babenhausen, Germany. He was a retired painter and a member of the Peoria Painters Union Local 157 from 1970 – 2003. Bob enjoyed traveling and volunteering at The Mountain West basketball tournament in Las Vegas and a couple of NCAA basketball tournaments in Denver, Colorado.

Family was most important to Bob. Bob and Jean would have been married for 58 years in May, 2022.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No visitation will be held and burial of ashes will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to an organization of the donor’s choice or to the donor’s church. Mason-White Funeral Home of Washington is assisting the family.
