Robert S. Kern

Robert S. Kern, 76, of Metamora, IL passed away at 12:00 am on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria, IL. He was born on November 25, 1940 in Eureka, IL to Scoville M. and Kathryn (Nixon) Kern. He married Della M. "Mickey" Langabeer on January 10, 1964 in Peoria, IL. She passed away on May 15, 1990. He then married Victoria J. "Vicki" Cullen on July 16, 1993 in Secor, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his son Ken (Carolyn) Kern of Metamora; daughter Tami Page of Peoria; step-children Stacey (Tim) Boland and Matthew Cullen both of Eureka; six grandchildren; one step-grandson; and one sister Linda (Don Ferm) Moore of Anaheim, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mickey, and son Robert S. "Robby" Kern in 1982. He was a life-long farmer in Metamora. He served in the Air National Guard. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Secor, IL. He was a former member of the Metamora Christian Union Church Board and the Metamora Township High School District #122 School Board. He was a current member of the Metamora Rural Fire District Board and the Mt. Zion Cemetery Board. He was a Bradley Braves fan. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, Secor with Reverend Michael Peters officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel and also one hour prior to his service on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church or Metamora Fire Department. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
