Rick Barry

January 31, 1956 ~ September 15, 2023 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Obituary

Rick Barry, 67, beloved Father, Brother, and Grandfather, passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on September 15, 2023. He entered this world on January 31, 1956, in Peoria, IL, born to Albert and Helen Wright Barry.

He is survived by his daughter Emily Barry (Josh Mack) of Washington; daughter Elizabeth Barry-Heider (Brock Heider) of Washington; one brother Ronald Barry of Washington; grandsons Blake Barry and Henry Heider; granddaughters Addison Heider, Harper Diveley, and Aria Diveley, one niece Kim Wade; and one nephew Todd Barry. His parents and one brother Gary preceded him in death.

In his younger years, Rick worked for Eagle Grocery and later became a Sales Representative for Kroger Foods. Rick's passion was music; his collection grew to over 1,000 records and 600 CDs. He loved all genres, but Rock and Roll was his favorite, including Queen, Cheap Trick, The Beatles, Styx, Heart, AC/DC, Cake, and many more. Rick extended his love of music to his daughters, taking them to numerous concerts.

Rick was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Panther Fan. He enjoyed spending his mornings with the "Hardees Boys," lunches at Kep's, and attending High School Football games with his brother Ron. Aside from his daughters, Rick's pride and joy were his grandchildren. Grandparent's days, dance recitals, football games, cheer performances, and more, he was always there.

His family and friends will never forget Rick for his dry wit and calm, loving demeanor. He was the most genuine and kind-hearted man, and his absence leaves a void for those who love him. He will forever be deeply missed.
