Richard H. Traver, 92, of Washington passed away at 4:29 am Monday, June 28, 2021 at Snyder Village in Metamora.
He was born on March 20, 1929 in Seneca, IL the son of the late Earl and Mary Pierce Traver. He married Alma M. Chapman on May 26, 1952 in Franklin, IL.
Surviving is his wife; their children Richard (Sandra) Traver of Washington, Dianne (Kerry) Morgan of Poplar Grove, IL; Noel (Kelly) Traver of Metamora, IL and Roger (Nancy) Traver of Washington. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren; Heather, Patricia, Keegan, Drew (Elise), Elise, Dayna and Megan. He was preceded in death by three brothers Earl, James and Jerry.
He served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1952. Dick worked for Wes Wenger Construction, later working at C. Iber and Sons Construction and then worked and retired from Johnco Construction in 2002. He enjoyed many things in life, especially traveling with Alma and family, playing his banjo and his motorcycles. He loved his children and grandchildren they were his life and they will miss him dearly.
Dick was a member of American Legion Post 100 in Washington. He was also a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Peoria.
A Funeral Service for Dick will be 11:00am, Friday, July 2, 2021, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor Jason Alligood will officiate. Visitation will be one-hour prior to his service also at the funeral home. A private family burial will follow his service at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to Fellowship Bible Church, 4006 N Sterling Ave. Peoria IL 61604.
