Phyllis Linder Sutton, 81, of Peoria, formerly of Hanna City and Washington, passed away 10 am Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Buehler Home in Peoria. Phyllis was born on January 7, 1934 on the family farm near Hanna City, IL to Lem and Esther (Hornback) Wagner. She married John Linder who passed away in 1987 and later married George Sutton who died in 1992. Among those surviving are two step daughters, Dreama (Rick) Sutton of Dallas and Mandy Sutton of Pekin; one sister, Susan Wagner of Olympia, Washington; one sister-in-law, Roma Wagner of Madison, Wisconsin; nieces and nephews including Neal Linder, Ken Linder, Jr., Philip Fairhead, Cate Fairhead, Fern Lee Wagner, Chris Wagner, Karen Bowman and Lynn Pew; three step grandchildren and one step great granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dean Wagner and Fred Wagner; two sisters, June Barker and Shirley Gibson; one niece, Janet Heberer and her companion for most of the past 20 years, Guido Tiezzi. Phyllis enjoyed ballroom dancing, music, concerts in the park and the love of people. She was also a graduate of Farmington High School and attended Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington. She had worked for more than 30 years at WABCO (now Komatsu) in the parts and shipping office. Cremation Rites have been accorded. A private family burial will be held in Smithville Cemetery in rural Hanna City , IL. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 7, 2015 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington from 3pm until 4pm.
