Norman W. Fauber, 67, of East Peoria, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on November 7, 1954 in Peoria, IL to Lowell W. and Frieda E. (Aupperle) Fauber. He married Sharon Smith in Peoria, IL on February 6, 2010.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon, of East Peoria; daughter, Heather (Tyler) Brinkman of Ridgefield, WA; son, Ben (Julie) Fauber of Morton; step-daughter, Darla (Armando) Oropeza of Helena, MT; step-son, Kristopher of Peoria, IL; three grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and sisters Jean (Stan) Ogden of Dunlap, IL and Joyce (Kenneth) Poignant of Lacon, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Norm grew up on his family’s farm and had a lifelong passion for farming. He farmed alongside his family from a young age and continued his entire life. Norm was a millwright/maintenance mechanic at Caterpillar Inc. for 37 years, retiring in 2010. He received recognition for his valuable contributions to the millwright apprentice program at Caterpillar.
He owned Norm Fauber Trucking, where he was an owner-operator and employed multiple drivers for a time. Norm shared his love of farming and trucking with his kids and grandkids – taking them for rides in his tractors and trucks brought him so much joy. He was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay, IL.
