Michael W. Silver, 75, of Washburn, IL, passed away at 6:54 am on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on March 14, 1945, in Moline, IL, to Earl W. and Mary A. (Folsom) Silver. He married Linda D. Lindmeier on December 31, 1969 in Peoria, IL.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Linda; children, Elisha (Darryl) Bachman, Michael (Julie) Silver, and Janele (Tim) Silver; and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Phyllis, and granddaughter Brooklynn.
Michael was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, serving from October, 1968 until June, 1970 with the 6/31 3rd Brigade 9th Infantry. He received several commendations and participated in over 25 aerial missions as a Spec 5 sergeant. He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company as an inspector, retiring after 30 years of service. Michael loved traveling to Eli, Minnesota on family fishing vacations. He was an avid runner, receiving several awards and was a skilled woodworker. He will be missed terribly by his beloved cat Gary.
