Melanie D. Schubert

Melanie D. Schubert, 45, of Washburn, IL passed away at 8:54am, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in the Emergency Room of OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in rural Woodford County.

Melanie was born on August 13, 1973 in Charlotte, NC the daughter of David F. and Judith C. Lockwood Knight.  She married Chad W. Schubert on May 18, 2013 in Lacon, IL

Surviving are her husband, one son Paul Delap and one daughter Paige Delap both of Peoria; one step daughter NiKayla Schubert and one step-son Scott Schubert both of Washburn.  Further surviving are one granddaughter Ava Lee Rose Delap, one brother David (Stacey) Knight Jr. and one sister Kathleen (Ed) Heubi all of Washington along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She worked for Casey’s General Store in Washburn.  Melanie had previously worked as an assistant manager for McDonalds Corporation in Metamora.

She enjoyed many things in life including, crocheting and loved being a mother, grandmother, a wife, and aunt and was always the heart of the party.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.  A visitation will be Thursday January, 10, 2019 at Mason-White Funeral Home, 20 Valley Forge Rd in Washington from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.  There will be no funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name are encouraged for any charity for the homeless or needy.
