Marilyn E. Hodge, 90, of Spring Bay, IL, passed away at 6:00 pm on Monday, November 28, 2022, at The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing in Eureka, IL.
She was born on May 8, 1932, in Peoria, IL, to Benjamin and Theresa Marie (Suter) Carter. She married Roger D. Hodge on March 13, 1953, in Peoria, IL.
Surviving are her husband, Roger of Spring Bay; son, Mark (Deani) Hodge of Spring Bay; daughter, Marcia (Rick Odeneal) Houston of Metamora; three grandchildren, Dana (Chris) Donahue, Trevor (Stephanie) Hodge, and Nicholas (Melissa) Roxby; eleven great-grandchildren, Shelby Frank, Jackson Frank, Griffin Frank, Andrew Donahue, Jake Donahue, Gavin Hodge, Holden Hodge, Maria Cantrell, Garrett Cantrell, Colbi Cantrell, and Piper Roxby; and sister, Marie Joan Wineland of Tuscola, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Craig Hodge, and son-in-law Randy Houston.
Marilyn worked as an RN for the American Red Cross for 43 years. She was a member of RiversEdge United Methodist Church in Spring Bay. Marilyn loved writing poems, vacations with family and friends, singing in church, canning vegetables, making homemade jellies, and cooking big family dinners. She was a very kind and loving wife, mother, and friend.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, December 2, 2022 at RiversEdge United Methodist Church with Pastor Binu Penial officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time, also on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery.
