Marilyn J. Deatherage, 89, of Washington, IL, formerly of Metamora, IL, passed away at 2:22 am on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. She was born on April 3, 1932, in Cazenovia, IL, to Lee and Marcella (Rich) Bachman. She married Robert W. Deatherage on March 17, 1950 in Metamora, IL. He passed away on February 3, 2001.
Surviving are her five children, Steven (Donna), Stan (Cyndi), Beverely, Debra, and Scott (Kathy); twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, June Zimmerman, Sharon Hodel, and Velda Winkler. She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.
Marilyn worked as an inspector and special packer for Hallmark in Metamora for 25 years, until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Christian Union Church in Metamora and their Women’s Guild, past member of the Metamora Women’s Club, and past member of several bowling leagues. Marilyn was an avid card player. She’s gone fishing with Bob.
A private family funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Christian Union Church with Pastor Gary Salm officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora.
