Lois A. McCombs

Lois A. McCombs, age 87, from Peoria, IL, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL, with Peggy, Kim, and Frank by her side.

Lois was born on July 10, 1933, to Mabel Derry in Ray, IL. She married Stuart D. McCombs on October 9, 1949. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1998. Also preceding her death were her mother, son, Randy, daughter, Karen, and many uncles and aunts, and cousins.

Lois is survived by her twin sister, Delores Witherell, brother-in-law, Robert, her sister, Nancy Pieper, and sisters-in-law, Doris Thomas and Agnes McCombs. She is also survived by her daughter, Peggy Morris, son-in-law, Frank, her daughter Kimberly Bacon and son-in-law, Rick, and daughter-in-law Debbie McCombs Kerker. Lois is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Lois was a gentle soul, loved by all who knew her. She was the epitome of kindness and generosity. Lois loved to play pinochle, take a cruise, visit a casino, play Bingo, and crochet but enjoyed time with her family most of all. May we always remember Lois as the wonderful and kind woman she was and her powerful love for her family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at Avanti’s Ristorante in Peoria on Saturday, July 17, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Private interment will be held at the American Mausoleum in Peoria next to Stuart and Karen.
