Larry John Zoss

Larry J. Zoss, 67, of Tremont, IL, passed away at 9:50 am on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at his home. He was born on November 1, 1953 in Peoria, IL to Henry A. and Thelma L. (Klein) Zoss. He married Linda S. Nuske on June 16, 1979 in Metamora, IL. She passed away on October 21, 1989.

Surviving are his two daughters, Sarah (Doug) Lewis of Morton, IL and Rebecca “Becky” Zoss of Tremont; grandson, Noah Lewis; and brother, Dean Zoss of Germantown Hills, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Betty Vrell and Linda Zoss.

Larry received a BA in Data Processing from Bradley University. He worked in system analysis as a computer processor for McLean County, IL. He loved working on computers, reading, telling “dad” jokes, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Peoria Jaycees and helped start the Red, White, and Boom Peoria fireworks show and other Peoria Jaycees events.

A  Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Vien Van Do officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until mass time on Tuesday also at the church. Burial will be in Linn-Mount Vernon Cemetery in Washburn, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Illinois Cancer Care, 8940 North Wood Sage Road, Peoria, IL 61615, St. Mary’s School, 415 West Chatham Street, Metamora, IL 61548, or WTVP, 101 State Street, Peoria, IL 61602.
