Judith Fairchild Obituary

Judith Ann Fairchild, 81, of Roanoke, Illinois went to be with her heavenly Father at 8:20 pm on Saturday, June 12, 2021. She was born on November 14, 1939 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Merrill and Janet (Dunbar) Castle. She married Dan Fairchild on March 11, 1987.

Surviving are her husband, Dan of Roanoke; three children, Debbie Lindsey of Roanoke, Steve (Danette) Bellman of Secor, and Janet (Mark) Tol of Roanoke; two grandsons, Joshua (Michele) Tol and Jacob (Abbey) Tol; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Bryan) Willey and Victoria (Vlad) Novichenko; three great-grandsons, Noah, Owen, and Eli Willey; and four great-granddaughters, Lauren Tol, Ellie Grace Tol, Mila Novichenko, and Kaia Novichenko. She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law John Lindsey.

Judy will be missed by all. She always felt grateful and blessed seeing her children grow up to love the Lord and King of Kings, Jesus Christ. She attended Morton High School and Bradley University. Judy was employed a total of 42 years with bus transportation at Eureka School District #140 and Roanoke-Benson School Unit #60.

She had a great compassion for youth and was involved many years at Illinois Farm Bureau Program, “Ag in the Classroom.” Always being interested in agriculture, Judy was a 4-H leader for nine years as well as being on the Woodford County Ladies Board. In her younger years, Judy was actively involved in the showing of Angus Cattle and Hackney Road Ponies. Some of her greatest joys were attending the cattle shows as well as Society horse shows, in which her children and grandchildren participated as well. Judy had the honor of winning grand champion steer at Illinois State Fair in 1956, reserve champion steer at Houston Texas, and reserve champion at Chicago International. Her daughters won champion roadster pony in 1984 at Illinois State fair; he was properly named Chairman of the Board.

She was a life member of American Angus Association, American Simmental Association, and the American Hackney Association. She also served as secretary for Area IV horse shows at the Heart of Illinois Fair. Her love for her Lord and Savior was the light of her life. Judy is most grateful to her prayer group and friends.
