Joseph Lee Rogers Sr.

     Joseph Lee Rogers Sr., 95, of Peoria, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at his granddaughter's house, surrounded by his family.
     A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Pastor Joey Watt will officiate the service. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army and TMRT.
     Joseph was born on August 16, 1928, in Cleburne, IL, a son of Desmond and Blanche (McGee) Rogers. He married Martha Crain on July 12, 1958, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Hall, son, Jack Sherrill, great grandson, John "Buzz" Williams III and several siblings.
     He is survived by his children, Meredith Sherrill (Jack) of Aurora, Co., Joseph (Jennifer) Rogers of Littleton, CO and Debra (Randy) Brown of Peoria; brother, Desmond "Butch" Rogers of Pinckneyville; thirteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
     Joseph proudly served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company.
     He was a member of El Vista Baptist Church in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made in Joseph's memory to his church.
