Joseph E. Foster, 99, of Eureka, IL, passed away at 4:15 am Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka. He was born on September 10, 1922, in Toluca, IL, the son of William and Pauline Vallazza Foster.
He married Mary K. Negley on June 26, 1948, and she passed away on June 22, 2010, in Peoria. Three sisters, Theresa Herd, Katherine Marshall, and Pauline Fleming, all preceded him in death.
Surviving are one son Steven (Aleshia) Foster of Washington; two daughters Mary Jo (Dennis) Musick of Secor, IL, and Paulin Pierson of Morton, Il. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A WWII U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran serving as a radar mechanic during WWII, the Berlin Air Lift, and the Korean Conflict before being honorably discharged. After moving back to Eureka, Joe owned and operated Foster Jewelry in Washington for 70 years retiring in February of 2022. He was a member of American Legion Post 466 in Eureka. Joe was a 32degree Mason.
A funeral service is scheduled for 6:00 pm Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until his time of service, also at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow his service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Oasis Church. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
