On March 14, 1949, she was born in Peoria, IL she the daughter of Charles and Eleanor Radespiel Blackman

She married Jed B. Toms Sr. on February 1, 1969, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Washington.  He passed away on November 29, 2018.  Her parents, one grandson Cody Carlin, and one brother Steve also preceded her in death.

Also surviving are one brother Charles “Pete” (Jeanette) Blackman of Washington; two sisters Kathy (Jim) Collister of Peoria and Margaret “Tinker” (Curt) Horton of East Peoria and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Our amazing momma was the Jewell of Sunnyland. She was such a strong woman and referred to as mom by so many.  She was loyal, faithful, and honest. She always had a listening ear for whoever needed it and would give the best advice.  Jewell was so kind and giving, even to strangers.  If she loved you, she loved with all her heart.

She worked at Kmart and the bread store for many years and District 50 in Sunnyland.  She later worked and retired from Kirks Korner Tap in 2018.

Her kids, grandkids and Lulu were her world, and we will be lost without her.  She loved going to Florida, Wisconsin Dells and just having her family together with so many cherished memories.
