Jerry Dreessen Obituary

Jerry Lee Dreessen, 73, of Metamora, IL passed away at 5:04 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at his residence.  He was born on January 18, 1946 in Sac City, Iowa to Herman E. and Catherine L. (McCaulley) Dreessen.  He married Thilieu R. Osgood on May 26, 1973 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife Thilieu of Metamora; children Meagan Taylor of Poulsbo, WA, Rachel (Troy) Jones of Metamora, Ben (Jennifer) Dreessen of Mandeville, LA, and Abigail (Ryan) White of East Peoria; grandchildren Savannah Bolen, RJ and Ady White, Raven and Alex Elias, Sid and Zoe Dagit, Emma and Evan Jones, and Sylvia and Annaliese Dreessen; and siblings Ron (Becky) Dreessen of Minnesota and Mary Anne (Loren) Thies, Pat (Alice) O’Tool, Randy (Lisa) O’Tool, Don (Angela) O’Tool, Shirley Sosalla, and Linda Olson all of Iowa.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles and Robert Dreessen.

Jerry was a 1964 graduate of Sac City High School and attended Iowa State University.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korea during the Vietnam War.  He worked as an operation supervisor for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 35 years.  Jerry enjoyed running and playing basketball, especially playing in the Gus Macker.  He was a rabid Hawkeyes fan and participated in Senior Olympics.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Pastor Elaine Bolen officiating and military rites accorded.  Cremation rites will be accorded following his service.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 21, 2019 and also one hour prior to his service on Friday both at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Parkinson Disease Association Midwest Chapter, 1800 North Main Street, Suite 215, Wheaton, IL 60187.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
