Jim was born on July 28, 1946, in Mt. Carmel, IL, to Albert and Mary (Ivy) Duncan. He married Diana Marchand on October 25, 1969, in Metamora, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Diana of Germantown Hills; daughter, Melissa (Jerry) Warfield of Washington, IL; sons Chadwick (Shaharazad) Dudley of Tampa, FL and Jeffrey (Danielle) Dudley of Port Richey, FL; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Randola Wiesenberger of Albion, IL and Linda Bunting of Owensville, MO; and brother Vic Dudley of Murfreesboro, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
Jim graduated from Illinois Central College and went through the Pipefitter Apprentice program at Caterpillar where he worked as a maintenance supervisor until his retirement in 2009 after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Metamora where he was involved with Cursillo and Walk to Emmaus programs. Jim loved spending time outdoors: getting lost in the woods searching for mushrooms, hunting, and raising puppies. He was a blessing and joy to his family and friends. Jim could fix anything and could always be found helping others. Jim loved spending time with his neighbors, family, and especially playing with his grandkids. He always had a smile on his face, a witty remark, and a big hug for friends and family. Jim spent his final days with his true love. It was the type of love that one had to witness to truly understand the magic of their marriage.
