James D. Reed

James D. Reed, 86, of Washington, IL, formerly of Germantown Hills, IL, passed away at 3:35 pm on Monday, March 18, 2024, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.

He was born on May 8, 1937, in Springfield, IL, to James M. and Alta L. (Rouland) Reed. He married Ann M. Allison on December 1, 1956, in Peoria, IL.

Surviving are his wife, Ann of Washington; daughter, Debra (Dennis) Mulvaney of Germantown Hills; son, Jim (Kathie) Reed of East Peoria, IL; grandchildren, Amy (Rich) Doman and Jason (Jen) Mulvaney; great-grandchildren, Hadley and Skylar Doman and Mackenzie and Gavin Mulvaney; sister, Rita (Jerry) Donath of East Peoria, IL; and brother-in-law, Dick Nelson of Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Reed, and sisters, Peg Nelson and Pat Sanders.

Jim was a distributor for Archway Cookies until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in rural Metamora. He enjoyed mowing, gardening, and hunting in South Dakota with his son.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 25, 2024 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Eric Bolek officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until mass time, also on Monday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery.
