Reverend James Edward Fries, 81, of Springfield, IL, graduated to heaven on March 22, 2022, at the Christian Retreat in Bradenton, FL where he was surrounded by his wife, Kristine Fries and loving brothers and sisters in Christ.
He was born on July 30, 1940, to John R. Fries and Marjorie E. (Wilson) Fries in Pekin, Illinois.
He is survived by his five children James (Jill) Fries of Houston, TX, Rhoda Ann (Chad) Mason of Washington, IL, Deborah Ann Winchell of Washington, IL, David Fries of Chillicothe, IL and Rhonda Rebekah Fries of Bartonville, IL. Brother Larry Fries of Kissimmee, FL and sister Mary Ann (Terry) Goode of East Peoria, IL. Along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Jack Fries of Tecate, Mexico and Don Fries of Peoria, IL.
Jim’s main love in life was preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He preached various places and served as associate pastor at Christian Assembly Church in Peoria, IL
He was employed at Ameren in the gas services area for over 30 years. He will be remembered as an avid and loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan, and he seldom left the house without a Cardinal hat!
He will be deeply missed as he was a man that exemplified the love of God to many.
Services will be held at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, Illinois on Friday, April 8th, 2022. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 PM followed by a service at 6:00 PM. The Reverend Terry Goode will officiate.
