J. Larry Arvin Obituary

WASHINGTON - J. Larry Arvin, 76, of Washington, IL, passed away at 4:30 am on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria, IL.

He was born on July 20, 1945, in Sandwich, IL, to the late Glendon O. and Lola C. (Clesson) Arvin.  He married Phyllis J. Sacadat on October 13, 1973, in Peoria, IL.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis of Washington; daughter, Tammy Arvin of Washington; brother, Owen Arvin of Washburn, IL; and sister, Judy Hart of Morton, IL.  One niece and four nephews survive.

Larry received his Master’s Degree from Bradley University.  He worked as an Industrial Engineer for Waite Equipment.  Larry attended Bethany Community Church in Washington. His hobbies included being outside enjoying his horses and dogs, and studying history. His faith in God, his family along with animals were most important in his life.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Bethany Community Church.  Pastor Daniel Bennett and Pastor Blake Gerber will officiate.  Visitation will be held one hour before his service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bethany Community church, TAPS or Come Bye BC Rescue, PO box 332, Highland, IL 62249 https://www.comebyebcrescue.org/index.php.  Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements.  If you’d like to share a memory about Larry or offer condolences, please visit www.masonfunerlhomes.com.
