Herbert "Herb" William Raaf, Jr.

Herbert William “Herb” Raaf, Jr., 64, of Lowpoint, IL, passed away at 7:15 pm on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on September 27, 1959, in Princeton, IL, to Herbert W. and Grace M. (Cox) Raaf, Sr.

Surviving are his siblings, David (Nancy) Raaf of Coralville, IA, Debra (Daniel) Salefski of Carmel, IN, Sharon (Arnie) Gonzalez and Teresa Raaf both of Galesburg, IL; many loved nieces and nephews; two aunts; and one uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Herb attended Metamora Township High School and graduated in 1979. He worked at the Metamora IGA for over 30 years. Herb was Metamora’s #1 Sports Fan!

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Burial of Ashes will be held at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Gerald, MO at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the MTHS Sports Booster Club, 101 West Madison Street, Metamora, IL 61548 or to the Herb Raaf Memorial Fund.
