Helen Roman

Helen Leona Hartter Roman, 98, of Eureka, IL passed away at 11:00am, Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Select Post Acute Care in Eureka, IL.

She was born February 11, 1920 in Eureka, IL to the late Michael and Katherine Hartter. She married James C. "Tex" Roman on June 1, 1945 in Longview, TX. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2001. Also preceding her in death were twenty brothers and sisters and one son-in-law Harold C. Mayo.

She is survived by one daughter, Katherine Sue Mayo of Jonesboro, IL and one son Robert Lee Roman of Washington, IL; six grandchildren, Robert (Gena) Mayo and Leslie (Jeff) Harvel of Illinois, Kellie (David) Espinoza, Christie Carroll, Scott (Tracy) Campbell and Stacie (Shawn) Noonen all of Texas; eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen was a member of Sunnyland Christian Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, with visitation one-hour prior to her service all at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to VITAS Healthcare Hospice, 5019 N. Executive Dr. Peoria, IL 61614.
