Harold Howerter

Harold L. Howerter, 92, of Washington, IL passed away on November 30, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on November 29, 1929, in Canton, IL the son of Elra and Alice Hammond Howerter.  He married Anna Petermaier on April 6, 1964, in Augsburg Germany.

Surviving are his wife of Washington and one son Eric Howerter of Pekin. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

He was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran retiring in 1989 as a staff sergeant from the Army Reserves.  Harold worked for 30 years at the Mapleton Foundry retiring in 1990. He was a memory of Taylor Masonic Lodge #98 in Washington.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Glendale Cemetery in Washington with military honors.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Taylor Masonic Lodge #98.  Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements.
