Goldie M. (Hilliard) Bill

Goldie M. Bill, 94, of Eureka, IL, formerly of Lowpoint, IL, passed away at 2:47 am on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.

She was born on March 10, 1929, in Tower Hill, IL, to John and Lydia (Perry) Hilliard. She married Emerson R. Bill on December 30, 1949 in Lowpoint, IL. He passed away on December 19, 2018.

Surviving are her children, Jeffrey (Virginia) Bill of Mooresville, NC, Kenneth (Brenda) Bill of Roanoke, IL, Brian (Andrea) Bill of Pattonsburg, IL, Douglas Bill of Lowpoint, IL, and Sheryl (Todd) Bill-Mayo of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Andrew (Amy) Bill, Caleb (Priscilla) Bill, Brandon (Joy) Bill, Erin Bill, Danielle (Jeremiah) Brown, and Alexander James Bill; and great-grandchildren, Lily Bill, Max Bill, and Maizie Bill. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, and infant twin daughters.

Goldie was a teacher for 34 years at Lowpoint-Washburn School District #21, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church in Metamora, IL. Goldie enjoyed gardening, traveling, knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, entertaining, card playing, and assorted crafts.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Faith Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Kurt Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service. A meal will be served after the service followed by the Burial of Ashes in Linn-Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Washburn at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Evangelical Free Church, 1337 Lourdes Road, Metamora, IL 61548 or to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, 8630 IL-91, Peoria, IL 61615.
