Glennis A. (Weaver) Thomas

Glennis A. Thomas, 99, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 3:30 pm on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Snyder Village in Metamora.

She was born on November 1, 1923, in Metamora, IL, to Joseph and Cathryn (Nofsinger) Weaver. She married Louis N. Thomas on July 12, 1974. He passed away on March 28, 2012.

Surviving are her daughter, Sheril (Donald) Britton of Mesa, AZ; three grandsons, Mike Hamlet of Pekin, IL, Gregg Hicowski and Doug Forbes both of East Peoria, IL; three great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, and sisters, Edith Kern and Josephine Jones.

Glennis was a member of the Germantown Hills Baptist Church. She had worked at Ruppmans in Peoria and also volunteered at the Women’s Pregnancy Center in Peoria. Glennis loved living at Snyder Village. She was a good Christian who loved the Lord and couldn’t wait to see Jesus.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Pastor Mike Carlson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of her service, also on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL.
