Georgia Keil Obituary

Georgia M. Keil, 83 of Washington, IL passed away at 1:21 am on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Unity Point Health Methodist.

She was born on April 17, 1938 in Henderson, TN the daughter of Erbin B. and Elsie (Moore) Woodard. She was born third out of eight children.

Left to cherish her memories are her four sons, Curt Keil, Charles Keil, Clayton (Tonya) Keil and Greg (Angie) Keil. Granddaughters, Shayna Keil, Brittni Keil, Nicole (Anthony) Heskett and Mackenzi Keil, Great Grandsons Kaden, Tim and Trenton, one step granddaughter and two step great grandchildren. Sisters Phyllis (Paul) Parrish of East Peoria, Mary Harris of Hot Springs, AR., many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog "Gidget".

Georgia was previously married to Warren Keil and together they spent many happy years farming on the family farm in Washington which is where they raised their four sons. They eventually turned some of the farmland into a beautiful golf course and built Highview Hills Country Club (Quail Meadows).

Her love and expertise in farming stayed with her throughout her life as she had the ability to grow anything. Georgia was also a wonderful seamstress and made a lot of her boys clothes in their younger years also doing fashion shows. Later in life she and Phyllis spent many fun filled hours sewing scarfs, capes and handbags which they proudly displayed per Georgia's perfection at the many crafts shows they attended. They were affectionately known as the "Ole Bags" Her greatest joy in life was her sons whom she loved dearly and after raising the "The Keil Boys" she always had a story to tell. Her humor, knowledge and love will be missed terribly and will leave a huge hole in the hearts of all that knew and loved her.

Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded and private burial of her remains will be in the family plot in Hollands Grove Cemetery in rural Washington at a later date. There will be no visitation or services. In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to TAPS. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all her friends at Leisure Acres who have reached out to express the loss they are also feeling. She made many good friends there. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements.
