Floyd Mudd, 79, was taken to Heaven on Monday, April 12, at 6:30 am, from his home in Hanna City, IL. He was born March 28, 1943, in Toledo, IL, to Arvilla Mae (Williams) and Richard Jesse Mudd.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie (Laughary) Mudd. They have three children: Charles (Julie) Mudd of Eden, IL; Teresa (Rick) Gorrie of Washington, IL; and Michelle(Danny) Fritz of Edelstein, IL. Together, Floyd and Marjorie have eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Monroe (Ruth) Mudd of Smithville, IL David (Sherry) Mudd of Tremont, IL; two sisters Phyllis Morse of Bartonville, IL, and Vera Morse (Rollin) of Peoria, IL. His parents, one brother, four sisters, and one granddaughter preceded him in death.
Floyd was last employed by the Peoria Journal Star. He loved spending time with his new great grandson and was proud of his entire family. Floyd enjoyed restoring his yellow ’49 Chevy truck and driving it around town.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life for friends and family will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Hanna City Grade School gymnasium with a light meal to be provided.
