Fay Dolores Opper, 89, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Supportive Living of Washington.
Fay was born in Mossville, IL, to Herman and Wanda (Hendryx) Karrick on August 4, 1931. She married Donald Opper in December 1948 in Washington, IL. She later married Francis (Duffy) Duffield in 1978.
Fay is survived by seven of her ten children: Judy Donigian of Columbia, MO; Melody (Bob) Fulton of Rockport TX; Debbie (Malcolm) Kinsinger of Washington, IL; Teresa (Jeff) Porzelius of Gridley, IL; Steve (Carolyn) Opper of Metamora, IL; Elcine Opper of Peoria, AZ; Greg (Andrea) Opper of Fort Collins, CO. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sisters: Deanna (Thomas) Todd of Lexington, VA, and Linda Friend of Raymore, MO. She is survived by three brothers: Dennis Karrick, Kissel Mills, MO; Gaylan (Sherry) Karrick of Peoria, IL and Kevin Karrick of Wilsonville, OR. Fay was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Dolores Peterson; two sons, Stanley Opper and Stewart Opper; two brothers, Dallas Karrick and Nyal Karrick; and two great-grandchildren.
Fay devoted her life to her family, friends, and many others. She worked in sales for a number of years, but found her niche as a home caregiver for 20 years in Sun City, Arizona. She enjoyed cross-stitching and took pride in giving away her treasures at family reunions. She made creative scrap-booking memory albums for all of her children, where she poured hours of love and creativity into each one. She had a love for music and enjoyed dancing every opportunity she had.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, July 5, 2021, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Trevor Bartolomucci will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before her service. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Supportive Living of Washington or Transitions Hospice.
