Evan Scott Davis, 27, of Metamora, IL passed away at 7:46 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. He was born on September 13, 1991 in Peoria, IL, the son of Deborah Davis.
Surviving are his mother and father John and Deborah (Davis) Peschong of Metamora; maternal grandparents Herman and Audry Davis of Germantown Hills; three uncles Tom (Becky) Davis, Archie Davis, and Joe (Samantha) Peschong; and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal step-grandparents Bruce and Dorothy “Dodie” Peschong.
He was a 2010 graduate of Metamora Township High School. He then attended Illinois Central College (ICC) and graduated with a degree in AAS in Science after which he attended the University of Illinois-Springfield working on a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) degree.
Evan organized and participated in the Save R Sight Walk/Run for 19 years and many 5K races throughout Central Illinois. Evan traveled to all the lower 48 states. He was a previous member of Cub Scouts and the 4H Club both in Spring Bay.
Evan enjoyed gardening and canning the vegetables that he grew, exercise, running, swimming, bowling, and going to the movie theatres. He was excellent at cooking and baking, making soaps and lotions, and restoring old trucks. Evan also enjoyed many walking and running groups. He loved spending time feeding and watching wild birds and spending time with family, friends, and his dogs.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora.
