Ethan James Kellerstrass, 15, of Washington, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 24, 2021, at his residence.
On January 17, 2006, he was born in Peoria, IL, the son of James E. and Susan L. (Kimmel) Kellerstrass.
Surviving are his parents, his sister Alexis, and his brother Austin all of Washington. Also surviving are his paternal grandmother Roberta Kellerstrass of Washington and maternal grandmother Carolyn Johnson of Peoria; his aunt Amy L. Sutton Kellerstrass of Springfield, IL; uncles Dave (Amy) Kellerstrass of West Peoria and Rob Kellerstrass of Morton, IL. His paternal grandfather Don Kellerstrass preceded him in death.
Ethan was a sophomore student at Washington Community High School and a member of the CHAPS Club at the school. He was a member of the Christian Union Church in Metamora and an active member of the youth group at the church. Ethan recently purchased a tractor that he and his father planned to restore. He loved being outdoors, working with his hands, and watching trains. Ethan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was also fond of his dog BonBon and his cat Mittens.
A visitation will be held at Mason-White Funeral Home on Sunday, January 2, 2022, from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Christian Union Church in Metamora at 11:00 am. Pastor Gary Salm will officiate. Cremation will follow Ethan’s service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Ethan’s family to be given to a charity of their choice. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements.
