It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elbert Prather, or as we all knew him Lee. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 4, 2023 after a long battle with dementia and just a few days after celebrating his 87th birthday.
Lee was a beloved husband and best friend to Karen Ganz who will miss him deeply.
He also leaves behind many children, grandchildren, step-children, step-grandchildren and even step-great-grandchildren who will dearly miss him.
Lee was a kind, patient man who always had a smile on his face and a dry wit. One had to be paying attention because he frequently slipped little humorous quips into a conversation. He enjoyed hanging out with family and friends and playing with the little kids in his life.
Lee loved softball and participated in a senior league well into his 70s. He also enjoyed playing /writing music (especially the guitar). He was very talented in both and they truly brought him joy.
Until the very end Lee remained happy, funny, kind, patient, and loving. He was greatly loved and adored by his family, friends and all of the caretakers who had the pleasure of working with him.
Lee will be greatly missed but we are able to find peace in the fact that he is no longer suffering and is now resting in peace in Heaven.
