Dorothy E. Gish

WASHINGTON?Dorothy E. Gish, 87, formerly of Washington, passed away at 6:35 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at ManorCare at Riverview in East Peoria. She was born on April 13,1925 in Benton, Illinois to Bert and Pauline (Williams) French. Dorothy married Carlos L. Gish on December 30, 1946 in Morganfield, Kentucky. Carlos died on July 13, 1996 in Washington. Among those surviving are four daughters, Judy (Rodney) Sandow of Peoria, Jean (Tom) Oldham and Shirley (Gary) Reed, both of Washington and Carolyn (Roger) Beard of East Peoria; one son, Curtis Gish of North Pekin; one brother, Bert (Bonnie) French of Washington; three grandchildren, Randy (Melanie) Sandow, Samantha (Robert) Beard-Roper and Ryan Beard; three great grandchildren, Christopher, Serra and Justin and two great great grandchildren, Jaslynn and Nevaeh. Dorothy was also preceded in death by an infant son, one granddaughter, Rachel and one sister. She was a member of Bayview Baptist Church in Washington. Dorothy loved to bowl and will always be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at noon at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Keith Thibo officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services and burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens south of Washington. Memorials for Dorothy may be directed to either Bayview Baptist Church or OSF Hospice.
