Dixie J. (McCullough) Kauffman

Dixie J. Kauffman, 63, of Eureka, IL, formerly of Metamora, IL, passed away at 10:27 am on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Washington Senior Living in Washington, IL.

She was born on February 7, 1960, in Peoria, IL, to Frederick A. and Mary P. (Rohman) McCullough. She married James L. Kauffman on May 25, 1984, in Peoria, IL.

Surviving are her husband, Jim of Eureka; children, Kimberly (Charles) Marth of Palatine, IL, Jill Kauffman of Knoxville, TN, and Jeremy (Seema) Kauffman of Lake Zurich, IL; grandchildren, Zachary Marth, Kelsey (Mark) Janociak, Kennedy Kauffman, Jackson Dibble, Saaya Kauffman, and Rayna Kauffman; and siblings, Dan (Michele) McCullough of Roanoke, IL, Dennis (Kathy) McCullough of Metamora, Debra Hurley of Parsons, TN, Doug McCullough of Washburn, IL, and Daryl McCullough of Metamora. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dean McCullough, brother-in-law Steve Hurley, and sister-in-law Karen McCullough.

Dixie had worked as a CNA from 1979 until her retirement in 2020 at the Mother House Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis in East Peoria, IL. She was very dedicated to the Third Order of St. Francis. She was a devoted Mother that loved her family and her beloved cats unconditionally.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Bob DeBolt officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with visitation following from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and additional visitation one hour prior to her service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Metamora.
