Denny Antrim

WASHINGTON-Dennis W. "Denny" Antrim, 69, of Washington passed away at 6:30am Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at his residence with his wife by his side. Denny was born January 22, 1947 in Monterey, CA the son of Fred and Noreen Kelsey Antrim. He married Marilyn Klein Davis on June 16, 1979 in Washington. Surviving are his wife, two daughters Robyn (Arlie) Polston and Dawn (Craig) DeBoer of Washington, three sons Terry (Mari Sue) Antrim Cordis of Peoria; Rick Antrim Cordis and Billy Davis both of Washington. Also surviving are six grandchildren Ashley Madden, Gabriella Cordis, Jack Cordis, Zoe Davis, Marley Polston and Kai Polston; four brothers Phil (Becky) Antrim of Sandwich, IL Bill Antrim of Washington, Jason Antrim of Washburn and Eric Antrim of Peoria Heights; one sister Laura (Tim) Riley of Washington, IL. along with his stepmother Janet Antrim of Peoria Heights. His parents and one grandson Jacob Madden preceded him in death. Denny was a 1965 graduate of Washington Community High School. He worked for 30 years at Caterpillar Tractor Company at the Morton facility retiring in 1999. He then worked at Uftring Chevrolet in Washington from 1999 until 2007. He last worked for Precision Air Cargo until 2015. Denny was an avid motorcyclist, had a passion for golf and was a diehard Cardinal baseball fan. He had a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh. Denny's children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life, with great humor he taught every grandchild how to play rummy and spin a top. He restored and showed nostalgic cars and built a 1979 Harley Davidson Super Glide both of which he was very proud of. Since his retirement he loved woodworking, watching movies and bird watching. The legacy of Denny's kind spirit, love of reading and zest for life will live on through us forever. A Funeral Mass will be 10am Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Visitation will be from 4pm until 7pm Monday, May 9th at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Further visitation will be from 9:00am until 9:45 at Tuesday at the church. Cremation Rites will follow his mass. A private family burial will be at a later date in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be distributed in his name and will be accepted at the funeral home.
