Dennis L. Baker, 72, of Washington, IL, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020, at his residence with his wife and son by his side. He was born on January 31, 1948 to Vincent and Irene Baker.
Surviving are his wife, Cathy; son, Brad Baker; step-children, Matt, Kim, and Tad Burton; grandchildren, Austin (Sara) Baker, Kaitlynn Baker, and Sydni Baker; step-grandchildren, Devin, Dylan, Kaiden, Araya, Alyssia, and Marcus; mother, Irene; one brother, Jerry Baker; three sisters, Diane (Robert) Moore, Karen (Vernon) Cotton, and Mary (Richard) Hayse. He was preceded in death by his father.
Denny was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving a tour in Vietnam. He graduated from Washington Community High School and attended Midstate College and ICC where he attained a degree. He worked in manufacturing and logistics at Caterpillar, Inc. where he retired. After retirement, he went on to ATS in Sunnyland to transport children with special needs. He had a kindness and patience for the kids and anyone he knew. He will be dearly missed.
