METAMORA-David A. Holt, 80, of Metamora, IL, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021, at his residence.
Dave was born on November 26, 1940, in Peoria, the son of Esselman A and Ione (McKinney) Holt.
He is survived by two sons David A. Holt Jr. of Edwards, IL Timothy (Susan) Holt of Metamora, and one daughter Susan (Doug) Campbell of Custer, SD. Also surviving are three granddaughters Kelsey (Jeremy) Treece, Kristen Holt, and Lauren Holt, one sister, V. Ann Robinson of Peoria, along with two nieces, two nephews, and his four-legged partner Akita. His parents preceded him in death.
He was a 1958 graduate of Woodruff High School in Peoria. Dave served 27 years with the Peoria Police Department. After his retirement, he worked for five years at the Center For Prevention of Abuse. He co-owned Holt Home Improvement, was a coach for Von Steuben Little League, served on the Friendship House Board, Volunteered at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria and the Peoria human Society. Dave was a member of the Peoria Police Benevolent Local 27.

Per Dave’s request, cremation rites will be accorded, and no services are scheduled. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
