Clyde Lloyd Bell, Jr., 89, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 11:30 pm on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria, IL. He was born on May 16, 1932 in Sheridan, KS to Clyde Lloyd and Emma T. (Fairchild) Bell, Sr. He married Alice Marie Wolff on January 18, 1957 in Wakeeney, KS. She passed away on December 22, 2014.
Surviving are their five children; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Eileen Johnson of Woodward, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Gene Bell, daughter Kathy Johnson, and two sisters.
Lloyd was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a mechanic and owned and operated Certified Transmission Service in Metamora. Lloyd was a member of Eastside Bible Church in Morton, enjoyed country music, and was a foster parent, along with his wife, for 33 years. Lloyd never met a stranger and he considered everyone family.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Eastside Bible Church with Pastor Steve Weber officiating and military rites accorded. Visitation will be held from 11:30 am until service time also on Wednesday at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following his service.
