Surviving are her daughter, Katelynn Cotton of Springfield IL; her father, Donald Knoblauch of Metamora IL; brother, Brian (Kandy) Knoblauch of East Peoria, IL; sisters-in-law, Lori Knoblauch of Metamora and Cathy Knoblauch of Palatine; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Clare graduated from LowPoint-Washburn High School in 1979. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Illinois State University in 1983. She loved helping children grow and learn. She spent her first three years teaching at LowPoint-Washburn Grade School, twenty years teaching elementary education in the Chicago area, and ten years tutoring at Sylvan Learning Center in Peoria.
Clare was devoted to her Catholic faith, family, and friends. She was a great conversationalist and loved sharing stories of her childhood with her siblings and cousins, her years at LPWHS and ISU, her travel adventures, and most importantly her daughter. She loved needlework and tapestry, reading, and playing cards. She was also involved in the Cursillo community.
Clare suffered from Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy, and even in the advanced stages of her disease, she had a positive attitude, a passion to live, and a smile for everyone who stopped by. She was very appreciative of the care she received from family, friends, caregivers at Bird in the Hand, and staff at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
