Charlotte M. Felmey, 93, of Eureka formerly of Washington, passed away at 5:35 am Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Aperion Care in Toluca, IL.
She was born March 7, 1928, in Juniata County, PA, the daughter of Elmer and Sadie Varner Naylor. She married Joseph C. Felmey on June 13, 1949, in Beavertown, PA. He passed away on March 23, 2010. Her parents, six brothers, and eight sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons Curtis Felmey of Pekin, IL and Todd Felmey of Carrollton, IL; four daughters Cynthia Ackerson and Deborah Felmey both of East Peoria, JoAnne Wayland of Low Point, IL and Cheryl (Michael) Ackerman of Rantoul, IL. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Minnie Snyder and May (Bill) Reigle, all of Paxtonville, PA.
As a homemaker and housewife, she raised six children. Charlotte then worked as a nanny for many years in Washington and later worked at Snyder Village in Metamora in housekeeping. She enjoyed shopping, flower gardens, vegetable gardens, home remodeling projects, and spending time with her family.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, July 30, 2021, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow her service at Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to Tazewell Animal Protective Shelter (TAPS). Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington has been entrusted with arrangements.
