Charles Edward "Ed" Watt, Jr., 83, of Sterling, IL, formerly of Peoria, IL, passed away at 11:15 pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Allure of Sterling in Sterling, IL.

He was born on May 31, 1942, in Lamoni, IA, to Charles E. Watt, Sr. and N. Eunice (Dickerson) Watt. He married Shirley Bailey on August 18, 1964, and they later divorced.  He married Lois Jean Speck on July 19, 1989 at Paradise Park, Oahu, Hawaii. She passed away on April 11, 2015.

Surviving are his two daughters from his first marriage, Kimberly (Phil) Crump of Sterling, IL, and Amy Smith of Henderson, CO; grandchildren, Alex (Michelle) Crump, Molly (Jeffrey Pizano) Ruiz, and James Crump, and Amber (Dylan) Andrews and Bailey Smith; great-grandchildren, Evie and Elliana Ruiz, Maisie Pizano, and Stella Crump; and siblings, Earl (Dana) Watt of MI, Diana (Merrill) Utterback of MO, and Robert (Ann Klingensmith) Watt of IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David Watt.

He graduated from Creston High School in 1960 and studied at DeVry Technical College in Chicago. He worked at Gisholt Machine Co. in Madison, WI before transferring to Sterling, IL in 1966.  He moved to Peoria, IL in 1976, where he worked at Carousel Magnavox. Ed retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 2005. He was a member of Community of Christ, Pekin, IL. Ed enjoyed square dancing, playing the clarinet, camping, traveling, and target practice with his grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Earl and Dana Watt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to his service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Community of Christ–Sterling, IL, 1813 Reno Road, Sterling, IL 61081. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
