Bernice A. Fuchs

Bernice A. Fuchs, 92, of Metamora, IL, formerly of Washburn, IL passed away at 12:58 pm on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria, IL.  She was born on February 27, 1926 in Metamora, IL to Herman J. and Gertrude (Eichhorn) Elbert.  She married Eugene B. Fuchs on February 1, 1945 in Metamora, IL.  He passed away on March 13, 1995.

Surviving are one son Darrell Fuchs of Princeville, IL; three daughters Janice (Kenneth) Avery of Hopewell, IL, Nancy (Edward) Baldwin of Toluca, IL, and Mary (Ronald) Bell of Eureka; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters Doris Forney and Joan (Wilbert) DeFord, Jr. both of Metamora; and two brothers Allen (Sara) Elbert of Sulligent, Alabama and Lynn Elbert of Metamora.  She was preceded in death by one son Daniel, two sisters, and three brothers.

Bernice was a past member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Washburn along with their Altar-Rosary Society.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, reading, and being a farm wife.  She was loved much by her grandchildren and family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 10:30 am followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 am on Friday at the church.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given for Mass Intentions, 415 West Chatham Street, Metamora, IL 61548.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
