Annette Elizabeth (Michael) Meismer

Annette E. Meismer, 103, of Peoria, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria.

She was born in Metamora, Illinois on November 19, 1920 to August and Elizabeth (Seiple) Michael. She is survived by four of her children, Sharon (Jerry) Robinson of Bella Vista, AK, Ken Meismer of Longmont, CO, Bob (Sue) of Germantown Hills, IL, and Judy (Ed) Bielanski of Schaumburg, IL; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Jim) Gill of Bloomington. IL.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 72 years, Merle J. Meismer, son Donald M. Meismer, five brothers, and three sisters.

She was a loving homemaker. Annette was also a member St. Vincent de Paul and St. Bernard’s Catholic Church (1940-1990) and associated women’s clubs. Annette also volunteered endless hours to OSF St. Francis Hospital Gift Shop and was a member of the OSF St. Francis Auxiliary where she held numerous officer positions. She is honored on the Wall of Fame at OSF St. Francis Hospital for her service. Annette was also a member of the Catholic Women’s League.

Annette was an avid bowler throughout her life and had participated in several bowling leagues. She also found great joy in gardening and loved shopping for and planting flowers.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 19, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora, IL with Father David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 9:45 am on Friday at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Metamora.

Thank you to all the loving, dedicated staff at Lutheran Hillside Village who provided such wonderful care to Annette over the last 13 years and thank you to Transition Care for the compassionate care they provided to make sure Annette was comfortable during her last couple of months.
