Ann Elizabeth Grampp, 77, of rural East Peoria, IL passed away at 5:25 pm on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Snyder Village Nursing Home in Metamora, IL. She was born on November 2, 1946 to Virgil F. and Dorothy A. (Butler) Radebaugh of El Paso, IL. She was a graduate of El Paso High School - Class of 1964. Ann earned her degree in Nursing from Methodist School of Nursing in 1967. She married Ralph E. Grampp on May 21, 1967 in El Paso, IL.
Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl (Matt) Garrett of Indianola, IA and Mary Grampp of Metamora, IL; son, John (Leslie) Grampp of Pontiac, IL; six grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Lydia, Rachel, Madelynn, and Alexander; sister, Virginia Bailey of Pontiac, IL; brother/sister in-law Jack (Jane) Radebaugh of El Paso, IL; sister-in-law, Joyce Hochstatter of Sheffield, IL; sister-in-law, Sandra Radebaugh of Harvard, IL, brother-in-law, Don Grampp of Ferguson, MO; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph, her brother, Carl, brother-in-law, Jerry, and sister-in-law, Kathi.
Ann worked as a Registered Nurse in several Peoria area facilities, as well as home care and private nursing. Beyond her work as a Nurse, Ann was a stay-at-home Mom, as well as “room mother” and volunteer at the local grade school where her children attended. She was also very active and volunteered at Parkview Church in Peoria. She was a member of the Oakmora Home Extension group where she met many wonderful, lifelong friends.
She enjoyed traveling with her family on frequent vacations through Wisconsin, as well as the Upper Peninsula and Great Lakes regions of Michigan. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spent winters in Florida with her husband, where she could often be found cruising around the Clover Leaf RV Resort on her power scooter visiting all of her resort neighbors and friends. Despite being diagnosed with MS later in life, she worked hard in her therapies and pool exercises to stay active and independent. Although she accomplished much in her life, she was most proud of her family and always had a photo album available to show off her family.
